Here is an extremely unusual fossil brachiopod specimen. This is a nice inarticulate brachiopod (Lingulate) from the Cambrian of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 2001. Lingulates are living fossils - they range from 500 million years ago to present!. This specimen has wonderful form and very good detail (especially under magnification!). The brach is well showcased on the natural plate of matrix. This is a very detailed example of this uncommon fossil from Oklahoma.
