This is a very nice echinoderm fossil. It is an excellent Hemiaster texanus echinoid from Texas. This fossil sea urchin is very inflated and 3-D. The textbook shape is wonderfully intact. The detail of the urchin is very good for this type. The urchin is nicely composited on the large, natural matrix base. This is a very fine display specimen of this classic Texas echinoid.
