Here is a very fine example of an unusual fossil. This is Desmograptus sollarsi, a graptolite, from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. Desmograptus was a fan-like colony that attached to the bottom of the sea with a fibrous holdfast. This wonderful specimen is a very nice example of the fan-like colony. The fossil has excellent color and contrast and has very fine detail preserved. This is a very distinct specimen of this uncommon, enigmatic fossil.
