This is a very nice cave bear jaw from the Pleistocene of Romania. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. Two excellent teeth are retained in the jawbone, both are large molars. The distinct teeth have excellent enamel and exhibit hardly any wear - the jaw was from an adolescent or young adult bear. The jawbone itself is also in nice condition. This is a very fine display specimen of a large cave bear jaw with teeth preserved.
