This is a very nice cave bear jaw from the Pleistocene of Romania. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. Three excellent teeth are retained in the jawbone - the rearmost three molars are preserved. The large teeth have excellent enamel and exhibit wear from use - the jaw was from a large, adult bear. The jawbone itself is also in very nice condition. This is a very fine display specimen of a large cave bear jaw with teeth preserved.
