Here is fabulous echinoid from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. The plate has a rare Arcaeocidaris aliquantula echinoid preserved. The urchin is beautifully displayed with spines intact, which is quite unusual. There is also a very nice Unidentified Crinoid with stem on the plate. The fossils have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the squared plate of limestone. This is a very uncommon echinoid and crinoid association from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
