This is a very nice Trinucleid trilobite. It is a complete Cryptolithus bellulus from the classic site at Swatara Gap, Pennsylvania. This specimen was collected by Steve Hess in 1985. This type of trilobite is known for the unusual pitted fringe that encircles the entire front of the trilobite. The trilobite also has excellent detail preserved. The bug's orange coloration is naturally striking. This is an unusually nice example of this beautifully-fringed trilobite from Pennsylvania.
